groovy baby is a 70 kg statement piece by carolina hering — a fusion of vintage design and modern technology, combining playful details, raw edges and solid weight into a sculptural whole.

the chair is made with the latest 3d printing technology using sand as material: a contemporary approach to design that still embraces the loose forms and typographic elements of the 1970s. the result looks soft and light, recalling the airy, rounded style of 70s trousers, yet is in fact robust and heavy. the seat is polished for comfortable sitting, while the edges are left raw to highlight the natural beauty of the sand.
