a hand-built vase in white stoneware under a very dark, almost black metallic glaze, with flowers and leaves in relief; the flowers and dots carry a pale rose tone. the glaze reads darker in photographs than in daylight. it follows the turn of the seasons, from autumn into spring and spring into summer, with small details taken from the medieval period.

mina wright is a ceramic artist in barcelona. she came to clay from painting; her pieces borrow the volumes and ornament of rococo and the 17th and 18th centuries and are modelled by hand, with the irregularities of the making left visible.
